Ad for Pages Magazine. The materials provided were a flat image of the book cover and a text file. I added the textured wall, the 3-D book effect, and the flag. The heading treatment made a flag configuration with red type (as stripes) and plenty of leading (as white stripes).
The Barkley ad was used for Pages Magazine's back cover. The goal was to let the book's title deliver the most impact. To support this, the word "racism" in the headline text was given emphasis, and a reflected image provided interest to the ad.
This full page ad was designed for San Diego Bride & Groom. The client wanted five photos used in the ad and minimal copy. I chose the loving embrace image as the main focus, and others as support. The images on the bottom worked perfectly: couple in the middle, and both side shots pulling toward the center (sublime!).
